Cinnamon Essential oil (Cinnamon Cassia) from the bark
Description & Uses
Cinnamon essential oil is a warming oil. You can drop a drop on your sock for cold feet or use in a massage oil to warm up your body. Do not use cinnamon barf for this, only cinnamon leaf essential oil, 6 drops in 1 tablespoon of coconut oil or almond oil will do the job. Gives a home like scent of baking so great to put in the diffuser in the winter. Can balance blood sugar levels and a very strong antiseptic – add clove for a stronger effect.
Cinnamon is native to the near and far east. Was traded at least 4000 years ago by Indians, Chinese and Egyptians. Is used, externally, for pain relief, as an antiseptic, antibacterial and antifungal. Also good for memory and concentration and as a mosquito repellent. Can reduce nausea and morning sickness in pregnant women. Can treat winter ailments and flu related headaches.
In China, people used cinnamon since 2700BC and in Egypt since 1500BC.
Cinnamon leaf oil is one of the most warming essential oils, a bit milder than the bark oil but still very suitable for winter. Gives a sense of stability and security. Antiseptic, antibacterial and antispasmodic – can relieve stomach-ache diluted in base oil for stomachache. Aphrodisiac. Increases vitality in cases of mental and physical fatigue. Gives a nice scent of a cosy and warm home.
